Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART (1756 - 1791)
I "ITALIANI" QUARTETTI PER ARCHI (6)
Early String Quartets (1770 - 1773) K80, 155-159

This generous anthology is offering all the truly "italian" scores, even called "Milanese", written by the young Mozart between 1770 and 1773, a period during which he made three visits to Italy. After one historical recording of the six "Haydn" Quartets (Nos. 14 - 19 for Denon), the Kocian Quartet pursues this mozartian vein with these six first "quattro", their writing style recalling the period quartets and divertimenti of Sammartini and Haydn brothers, Joseph and Michael.
